Hi,
I'm trying to install Oracle 9.2.0.1 on Windows2000 server. The first attempt was successful. When we had to change the machine name, we deinstalled Oracle, changed the machine name and attempted to install it for the second time. In the middle of running the second installation disk, it stalled. We had to cancel the installation.
When we tried to deinstall before running the installation again, the Universal Installer couldn't find any products to deinstall. We went ahead to run the installation again. Then we received error messages complaining about certain files when the installation disk tried to copy files over them. One example is ociw32.dll-access denied.
We have disabled all Oracle services on the server, and deleted the entire Oracle directory, which was created during the installation process. What else do we need to do without the Universal Installer? Do we have to delete things from the registry?
Thanks for any suggestion.
