Oracle 8.1.7 installation problem on Windows 2000

Hi,

We are trying to install Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on windows 2000. However, at oradba.exe stage, the installation is slowing down and prompting for Net8 configuration. Once the Next button is clicked, there is no response from?the installer.
Its like just hanging.
Any advice or help on this?

First, Prasoon, do you mind my asking why you are installing a version of Oracle that Oracle desupported years ago?

This is a client requirment where Oracle 8.1.7 is required for SAP 4.6C installation

Hi prasoon. Is this a Pentium 4 machine? If so, see faq186-1124 in this forum. Hope this helps.
