Where can I find detailed information for Oracle 7 ORA-600 errors without calling Oracle Support? [sig][/sig]

When I installed Oracle 7.3.4 on my machine, I installed the help files and it placed a Internet Explorer version of it in the following location:

file:///C:/ORANT/DOC/dcommon/oin/indexj.htm

After bringing that up in IE, I clicked on the following links:

Oracle 7 Server
Server Messages
600-639 Oracle Exceptions

I could possibly email the text to you if you send me an email.

Hope that helps... [sig]<p>Terry M. Hoey<br><a href=mailto:th3856@txmail.sbc.com>th3856@txmail.sbc.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>Ever notice that by the time that you realize that you ran a truncate script on the wrong instance, it is too late to stop it?[/sig]

Terry - Thanks. I have the same information that you mention. It doesn't give details on the first argument number that accompany any ORA-00600 error. That's the meat I'm looking for. [sig][/sig]

ORA 600 errors are different from most other Oracle errors. Their meaning can change with every release, so they aren't thoroughly documented. I should know - we were plague by server crashes most of last year, all accompanied by ORA 600. Ours turned out to be associated with NT memory leaks that Oracle was unable to handle.

If you have access to Oracle's support website I would start there. Metalink had some useful information from other sites that have experienced similar problems. [sig][/sig]
