ORA-27101

Hi. everyone
I think I can get some help here.
I installed 8i on win2k server, before restarting the server, the newly created default database works fine(I can connect it throught sql.plus) but not after I reboot the server. I got the following error messages:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist.

how can I start the default database?

You may use either server manager utility or just start it from Services panel.

I check the service and the listener and the instance are running, so I don't think it's because the the database didn't start.(or maybe i m fooled by the NT service). whatelse can I try?
