I'm getting the above error. Using MS Access to reach an Oracle 8i database with Net8 and Oracle 8 ODBC Drivers. Anyone know where I can switch off timeouts ? - I've already unchecked the "Enable Query Timeout" in ODBC - are there any other places I need to attend to ?

thanks for any help

Hi Dan,

I am also having the same problem. Did you get a solution, if so can you please email me to stalasil@yahoo.com.

Thanks

I think you should ask your db administrator to give you possibility to create bigger queries.

I have also encountered this error from Access. I captured the offending query via a database tool I have and then executed it in SQLPLUS. The query successfully completed. In Access, the query gets the ORA-01013 in 60 seconds. This does not seem to be an Oracle problem. Were you able to find an solutin to this problem ?

Thanks, Norford.

I don't know if you are still looking for a way forward, but you could try the ODBC Timeout property in the query properties, it defaults to 60 seconds but when I set my query to 300 seconds the results were fine!

Obviously the more complicated (i.e. more calculated fields etc) the query the longer you may have to make the timeout option. If you set it to 0 it becomes indefinite, and will not timeout at all. This does then mean that you have to crash out of the query if it's hanging.
