OPX and DID ~ Ministers Working from Home 1

I have installed plenty of Partners, but never with DID. I didn't find a lot on a search, so I have an application question for you all:

A Church, approximately 15 phones wants a new/refurb system that has a combination of 5 CO Lines and a block of DID's, plus Voice Mail and some analog cordless phones for the Nursery.

They would like it so the Ministers (2) receive calls simultaneously at their home, without having to hit a button or anything at the Church.



Questions:

1)What do I need to make the DID's work? ( I see the programming in PC Admin)

2)How does the Partner support OPX circuits? I know the homes are in the same exchange in a small town, but don't know the mileage yet. I've read a little about the Range Extenders on the near end in other posts.

3)Do I set up a Calling Group to handle the Minister's extensions and X-connect a station to the OPX, or can I use the same station for a 18D and the OPX (For Voice Mail)?

I am guessing a R7 or R6, plus a 308EC with a LARGE Voice Mail?

I was originally thinking Norstar, but the heavy analog usage is changing my mind.

(They looked at IP phones, and thought it to be overkill, plus I don't know if the Ministers have Broadband. Cost IS a major factor)

T1 is the only way possible to get DID's.The partner only supports a partial T1 starting at channel 9. PRI IS NOT supported. The T1 card is not very reliable and will cost just over $800.00.

The partner is a solid system but DIDs and OPX circuits are going to get rather expensive, especially for a church.

Analog DID telephone numbers or "snips" are usually provisioned in blocks of 20 and depending on call volume you will need a circuit per conversation. DID over a PRI is also overkill and quite expensive monthly especially for a church. The OPX circuits are also quite expensive and very rarely used as a viable option for tying two locations together anymore.

I would strongly suggest looking in to a VoIP solution such as Avaya IP office or going for a small business centrex package from the telephone company behind a key system.

Thank you , Vince. I haven't checked the OPX yet, but I think it'll be over $100 per month.

Old technology.

Centrex may be an option... maybe they only need a few "direct lines" but they really have dual appearances and immediate voice mail in mind for the Ministers.

Perhaps a 1/2 tap of some kind on a CO Line/Centrex, which is what I was hoping to accomplish with the OPX.

Thanks for giving it some thought anyway. I appreciate the extra brain power. I'll let you know what works out best for them.

ip office, twin the exts to the home phones in release 3.2

i assume they have broadband already for an isp, so they can get rid of that , and include it as part of their new telco package, along with the voice channels.

the parnter just is not the right match for this solution.

i would not really think twinning with analog lines would be the best scenario for performance. i was not suggesting analog lines for the solution.
