Option11 - T1 Card - only allows one quick call - then RED Alarm! 5

Hi all,

We are stumped. Our Option11 has stopped working to external calls.

But we found that by "bouncing" the T1 card (using LD 96 and 60) it will temporarily connect to the IAD - but only very briefly (15 or 20 seconds ). This actually gives me time to make a call to (or from the PBX, then talk a few seconds before getting the red alarm (it also alarms on IAD).

(It goes into red alarm even if we don't make the phone call). We can carry on a brief two-way conversation for the length of the call - up to about 10 seconds.

All indications are that both our ISP and the Meridian are set for NI2 (as they should be, and as they have been for quite some time now). (If it was in fact a signaling issue - no call would go through at all, right?)

Ever have an ISP and PBX vendor point at each other? That's kind of what's happening here. But we can make that short call...

We have cbeyond and use their Cisco IAD. 3 bonded T1s. We've tried swapping the t1 card and the IAD (no difference). We've re-seated the T1 card too, and have tried both warm-starting and cold-starting the Option11. Meridian is downlevel (Rel 24 as I recall...I know, don't get me started...)

Anybody seen this before? Your help GREATLY appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!

Go to LD 60. SSCK 0
This will check the status of your clocking circuit. Make sure it is active and not in FREERUN.
THis is from a newer system, but should give you some ideas if this is the problem:

SSCK x Get status of system clock 0 or 1. The SSCK command
indicates the active controller as well as active primary or
secondary reference clock source or free run.
dti/pra-5
Response may be:
1. AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL = automatic switchover of
system clocks enabled
2. AUTO SWREF CLK - DSBL = automatic switchover of
system clocks disabled
3. CLOCK ACTIVE = the active controller
4. DSBL = clock disabled
5. ENBL = clock enabled
6. REF CLK ERR = possible faulty cable from CC to
DTI/PRI, or faulty Clock Controller
7. SYSTEM CLOCK - FREE RUN, PREF or SREF = clock is
in free run mode or tracking to the primary (PREF) or
secondary (SREF) reference loop
8. VCXO AGING ERROR = the timing crystal is faulty,
replace the clock

TRVLR1 - awesome, thanks for your post. I know the pbx tech was looking at the clock some but not sure how much they got into it - I will be trying in about an hour when I get in! Will let you know!!

Many thanks again!

DTI061 means that it is in FREE RUN, try using the following command in LD 60.

TRCK PCK 0

Greetings Hawks, TRCK PCK didn't seem to do anything. I did grab the lcnts and posted them below as well. "SLIPR" looks kinda interesting - but I'm a bit over my head understanding it (still waiting for my tech here) - anyway please take a look and if you think of anything give a shout!, thanks!

Ok have you checked and made sure that the clock card is seated good on the T1 card?

The slips are because your system is in FREE RUN and does not like it.

TRCK PCK doesn't seem to be doing much; I'm still seeing the SLIPs. I will reseat the clock card; wish me luck. I'll report back!

Thanks all!

When you do the TRAC PCK make sure you include the 0 at the end.

Hi again all - just going through another cold start. Reseated the daughterboards onto a different PRI card. Same results.

I tried bouncing the T1 card, also the TRCK PCK 0, still RED alarm. Frustrating. Anyway - here's the latest and greatest; if you come up with anything, I'm all ears. Many thanks again all!

It went red - but lasted a couple minutes that time! (That's an improvement.) I will bounce the T1 again and try the trak again, wish me luck

Hi all, well back to square 1. Went red; it's just inconsistent. It was interesting that last time for a few minutes; actually had the "EST CONFIRM" earlier...but not this time...

Keep those ideas coming, many thanks! -

Still a no-go here. Any chance this could be with the carrier - or is this looking like a Meridian issue at this point?

Thanks again!
