Hola,
I wanted to ask a question: What are the steps to power down the switch, then after waiting a few minutes, power it back up... thanks guys!!

Take the cover off the cabinet, locate the power supply on the left hand side, turn off power button. Reverse steps to complete

sounds easy enough... thought I had to dis dch and so on and so forth... thanks!!

one other question... the reason im powering it down is because I need to clear up some corrupt data in meridian mail. Can I just reset MM or power the system down to clear up all corrupt data?

Good question, never seen corrupt data in MerMail. But then again I haven't touched MerMail in years. If memory serves me correct there is a silver toggle switch on the MerMail card or there may be a reset button.

Well, the folks at that site say that they are gettin their msgs days after they are left. So im figuring that I can either power down the switch to clear some funky data or just power the MerMail down. Maybe that will fix it.

If it's just a reboot of MerMail your looking for I'm pretty sure you can do that through the MerMail Terminal. It's been waaaaaaay too long though.

thanks guys..ima gona do this thang tomorrow.. i will post the results

If you just power down the Meridian Mail it will INI the PBX and probably reload it. You should first go into LD 48 and disable the AML link. After you power cycle the MerMAil you will have to re-enable the AML link again. I too have not seen corrupt data in a Meridian Mail system. When users say their mesages are late do they mean the light is not on or are messages actually time stamped late?

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!

Probably best to reboot the whole thing that way what ever issue is causing the delayed messages, whether it's the lights or the messages just not showing up, your covered. Let us know the shizzy on this thing afterwards.

FYI

To reboot a "working" MMail system do the following:

- Disable the AML in LD 48
- Go to MMail using AX
- Don't log in in the MMail
- Enter CTRL-BTB
- You will get a new prompt enter: KILL 2
- Enable the AML in LD 48

This will do a "nice" reset of the MMail without the need of a powerdown
