Hello & Good day Guys.
Please I need some help.

I want to reinstall the OS for a Meridian Option 11C mini PBX but I cant find the original PCMCIA that came with the system. But I have the original 3 CDs.
How can I reinstall the OS using the CDs?

Thanks

The OPT11C didn't come with CD. It was either a PCMCIA or if it's really really old, a cartridge.

Your can use "just about any" PCMCIA card, you just need the card-pro software and the software, both are available from the Avaya website.

Can you send your Dongle site ID as this will have a few numbers on it. From that, we can work out your software release. It sits on the SSC card and looks like a small silver battery.

Also look for some paperwork that has ISM information.

Many Thanks yyrkroon...
The PBX am managing here is option 11C mini and I found 3CDs... and I thought the system software is in it.
However, is there a way I can retrive it from the system?

@FirebirdScrambler, I have seen the Software License Certificate and it contain the keycode including the ISM parameters. What I need now is how to get the System Software.

Thanks

Yes, and can you post or contact as I think I can help you out. Just need to know the software release.

@FirebirdScrambler,

System Information
1) System type - Meridian 1 Option 11C chassis
2) Software Release/Issue 04.50w, etc

There are three expansion cabinets and One Main... so it is possible to retrieve system software?

How are your cabinets connected?. The reason being that you could have either a CS1000M or a CS1000s system. There are two types of software. Does your expansion cabinets have a SSC card in slot "0"?. Does the system only have one SSC card or is there a SSC card in a small cabinet on it's own?.

There are also two different regions of software. Are you based in NA or elsewhere?.

Yes, there are SSC cards in each of the Cabinets ( Main/Call Server and the Expansions).
The Cabinets are connected via optic fibre cable using IP Fiber Expansion cards.
The equipment was intially gotten from Europe.

thanks

I'm assuming that the system has crashed and that you need to rebuild it again. If you had the survivable keycode, and that another cabinet was configured. You might be able to log into one of the expansion cabinets via the TTY Serial port for that cabinet and follow the process of getting a backup.

I've attached the software for the EMEA CS1000S that needs to be installed onto a PCMCIA card that shouldn't be larger than 128 megs and also the SanDisk versions were usually the compatible ones that Nortel used.

I'm signing off for the day, but I've attached a guide I did on doing a restore. Personally, if you haven't had much exposure to Option 11 systems, then I'd suggest that you find a tech who has knowledge as you could end up being worse off.

The Option 11C Mini was a unique hardware/software configuration which was targetted at the hospitality market.

@FirebirdScrambler,
Many thanks for helping out a brother in need. You have provided a lot of useful information for me here.
I going to get a PCMCIA card and load the software it and attempt the OS repair process.

I will let you know here, how it goes.

am grateful...
