Hi,

Cards 6 & 7 I have disabled as indicated by our telco when the cards tried to connect to the CO - as we have more than enough capacity with the remaining 3.

Card 3-5 are running, but almost every other day a few channels switch into LCKO status - on card 3 and/or 5.

I am able to DSCH and ENCH the channels to bring them back to IDLE status.

Anyone have any ideas why this might be happeneing.

Cards 3 supports dialing out by 9. (Hence 1 DCH here)

Cards 4 & 5 supports dialing out by 8 (Hence two DCHs here)

Alternatively, anyone have any ideas on what we could use to replace this Option 11. Effectively, we need to be able to connect our T1's to a unit that will provide 60 analog modem lines. We tested out a Cisco 5300 unit, but the analog ports created toO many polling errors and prolonged polling activities by 5 times.

All suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

What type of office are you connecting to (DMS,Lucent...)?

I've always found that to be the carrier causing the problem.

I suppose one idea: If you know no call on any of these PRIs should exceed some maximum duration, then set the Routes TFD timer and see of that helps any.

You mentioned it was for polling only, so I suspect all calls are short? The TFD timer forces the disconnect of a call from 1 to 3600 seconds (1 second to one hour). TFD 0 means no time limit.

check your clocking as well as your lcnt table.. start type/supervision/ndec/fdec can all cause that problem not to mention timers..

The switch connects to a DMS. Calls vary. Majority are less than 10 mins.

I'll look into the TFD setting, but I am pretty sure it would set to 0.

How do I check the clocking?

Thanks

clocks are built in 73.. you want to clock off of your most reliable pri.. slips are usually a clocking problem.. that rdb has to be set to clock ext.. you do not want tfd, that disconnects the trunks during the call.. it's good for timed calls ie pageing trunks

This is the LD 60 SSCK 0 response:

.SSCK 0
ENBL
CLOCK ACTIVE
SYSTEM CLOCK - LOCKED TO SLOT 3
PREF - 3
SREF - 4
AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL
NO ERROR

Thanks

I've seen that when connections stay up past 24hrs, sometimes they get locked out from the CO. Are these analog modems hanging up properly? You could be having an issue with the devices causing the lockout.....

Good point. That has happened a few years ago according to a coworker. I'll see what was done.
