Every Time I put the PCMCIA card into the switch I get this message. I want to back up my switch to this card.

SRPT4594 Unable to mount device because of Database Upgrade
Tool or an incompatible PCMCIA card has been inserted
on device a: or b:

You must format the card with win9x or the switch will not recognise the card ..do not use nt/win2k/xp

cards on Rls 24 and earlier can only use 48Meg Card and Rls, 25.08 and higher can use up to a 64 Meg Card.
if you get Type II ATA flash cards, they are usually already formatted

I have a viking 64mb Flash Card.

my Release is

Are you able to try another PCMIA card? Does the same PCMIA card work in another PABX? As stated above there were issues with PCMIA cards being formatted with Win200 or XP. You may need to reformat the PCMIA card. There is a way of formatting the PCMIA card via the PABX but I cannot exactly remember how it is done - I have a feeling it is done via pdt commands? Someone else may remember.

from memory

get into PDT

pdt> pcmciaformat a:

PCMCIA 'a:' will be formatted (y/n) ?y (It only takes a couple of seconds!)
Formatting PCMCIA 'a:'
Format complete

Nortel also offers a little tool.

Its called PCMCIACardProgrammer Vers.9

With that tool, you can format the pcmcia devices even under win2k XP etc.

Can you tell me how to get into PDT or where I can downlaod the PCMCIA Card Programmer software from.
