In OTM I can't get the MWA feature added to this key. When I go to insert the identified VM number, I get:

Station
! Error: Message center DN failed validation:
(MAT0054)DN must be MessageCentre DN

The number is the valid vm number, it's happened before on another phone. It can be fixed in the switch manually, I can't remember the ld and commands, here is the TNB

Phone TYPE, he only gave you part of it as he Assumed you knew how to make changes.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

If you don't know these simple prompts, I suggest you get training or a Vendor to help you.

Ace, Please understand I am voIP who was given Legacy admin without any training. for the entire enterprise. I know very little of the legacy pbx systems and what I do know is the very basic of basics. I apologize if I offend you. I come to where I can get help as my company will not offer it. I guess by default they figure if you do the voIP phone administration then you have to know it all.

Thank you all for your help, I was able to run it and fix the problem.

:)

You don't Offend me but I would hate to see you crash the system, as it is easy to do. Do you have any manuals to reference?

Not sure what system or Rls you have but this might help.

In OTM you need to right click on your system, click properties, customers tab, Highlight Customer 0, click properties, click numbering plan tab.

From there you add the Message Center DN to your numbering plan, this will allow you to put Message Center DN onto Key 16 in OTM.

Basically I was brought in to manage their voIP system. I had NEC admin experience at my previous job. Apparently they had some kind of pow-wow without my knowledge and agreed it wasn't necessary to carry a voice admin in the UK, Australia, Germany or Mexico and that I would inherit every legacy system. I now manage Norstar, Toshiba, Panasonic, Option 11/61/81 and use BCM/OTM/RAD.

It's quite a lot of crap I got dumped on me with no prior knowledge literally on both the hardwar/device and personal levels. So I've been trying to get help here when I can so I don't get in trouble for not knowing how to do it.

I try to use my meridian software input/output guides but they are pretty archaic.

I don't remember, but MWK not MWA, you have MWA in the CLS already....
Message waiting Key....MWK.

You might be picking the wrong thing in OTM.... Look at another phone and see what it has....

I truely appreciate the great responses. I keep every link.

cdiross: I hope they gave you a raise when they dumped all this on you. Get hired for one thing and get 3 times as much to do. Good luck

Well unfortunately they didn't and I have 4 mouths to feed at home. I guess that's the breaks.

This is how you can make the change from LD 11

KEY press enter key until you receive REQ again

Hope this can help you

pronei's response is correct. OTM is rejecting it because it is validating it against the numbering plan cross checking you can set up in OTM. You can turn the validation function off completely which is what I do. It's a pain the rear.

As triton101 said, he was putting the wrong neumonic in, it should have been KEY 16 MWK 8333 and not KEY 16 MWA 8333.
