Constant freezing problem with our phones here. Agent will be on a M3905/M3904 phone, they will hear a loud crackle sound (sounds like a radio active detector if you ask me) and the phone will be unresponsive. (Locked up, No sound, customer is gone, you can't hang up, kaput.) The agents are using Avaya client and DID's to communicate with customers. When looking on the PBX we see ERROR 057 and BUG253. This problem is intermittment.
Help!

As i said before, we are working on a new grounding solution... I am just not convinced this is the problem, as things were working fine for a number of years..

I have heard of star ground, right now its a bus ground with all cabinets grounded to the building.. We won't be able to install a grounding rod 'right next to the pbx', its just impossible, so we are exploring all options..

It just seems odd that the second the telco changes the framing settings on the DChannel loop, all bug253's stop and we havent seen one since... Everyone was always so quick to rule out the CO, but I'm not so sure... as I said, I've gotta explore all options

Is this a problem only with agent phones or all the phones.

I would check the register values, and if possible increase them...

It might also be a problem with overload on registers.

It seems to only hit our digital sets.. 3904's and 3905's.. we only have 1 or two 3902's and havent seen it hit them.. but we arent sure...

we have Nortel IP phones and they are not affected at all..

Another day without any glitches.. so we're all crossing our fingers... so frustrating, even if i solve the problem we won't know until it never happens... as there is no way to reproduce the problem..

The one benefit of this annoyance, is the system has never been cleaner...

Problem happened again. This was disabled on the PBX at the time multiple phones froze.
