Hi. Has anyone done a sucessfull backup using a telnet connection on an Option 11. When I try to run this from a telnet connection in Procomm Plus I immediately get backup aborted.....and then this error....BKP008 A transmission error occurred. We have a large amount of option 11's connected via telnet to one of the TTY's using the MOXA NPORT 5210. here are my Procomm settings...VT-100, X-Modem, Normal Telnet. Modem settings are, Negotiate terminal size, negotiate terminal type, allow automatic telnet logon. Force speed : Disabled. I am able to access the Option 11 with no issues and enter any ld I want without a problem. Just cannot run the XBK in Ld143. Note: We have a secondary backup connection using an SEBII dial up modem and I can run the XBK using the same procomm program. Any thoughts?

Thanks. Would I need to change the settings in the Moxa for the SSH? I'm not too familiar with SSH.

A lot of time Telnet is blocked on networks. You could download Putty, it's free, and use SSH. Worth a try anyway. I know nothing about Moxa

The other thing about the XBK is it uses XMODEM CRC protocol. There is a very good chance that cant be emulated over ethernet. You may be SOL doing it over ethernet.

Yeah I'm thinking you might be right and that is why I posted in here to see if anyone had any insight. I've tried everything I can think of on the Moxa and with Newtork folks here. The issue is the backup procedure takes a very long time via dial up and we have a large footprint and multiple Option 11's that need to be backed up on a quarterly basis. Also the dial up backup fails quite a bit .The telnet would be great if it worked since I assume the download would go much quicker.

So you're using a serial to IP terminal server to connect with? Something may be getting lost in the translation. Why not configure the PBXs and connect over IP directly?
You could FTP the backups and automate the whole process if you have a number of PBX's.

Yeah the client does not want to change anything on the Option 11's since there are over 40 of them in their footprint. Most of them are running Rls 3.0.... Direct IP connect is not an option for us unfortunately.
