I HAVE A 500 SET I AM TRYING TO GET TO WORK I HAVE IT PROGRAMMED BUT I CAN NOT CALL IT FROM ANOTHER EXTENTION I GET A RING NO ANSWER AND I CAN NOT CALL OUT ON IT EITHER ANOTHER EXTENTION OR DIAL 9 TO GET OUT IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAVE WORKED ON ONE OF THESE

Do you have dialtone on the 500 set?

When you call the 500 set does it physically ring?

YES I HAVE DIAL TONE I CAN NOT DIAL 0 FOR THE RECEP OR ANOTHER EXT JUST GET FAST BUSY

Maybe your NCOS is too low to dial internal? Find a working set and make sure the NCOS is the same.

Can you dial the 500 set and answer the call?

no i can not call that ext i get a ring no answer the dn was on a 2008 st and i see there is marp on that

all of the 500 ext that have jumpers on them work but any dn without jumpers does not one work they act the same way mind does must be missing something can not send program of phone not on sight right now

500 set on Nortel PBX either program or not you will still get Dial-tone from the PBX. I bet you that port is not program.

I would OUT the TN and CPY it from a known working TN. Then I'd make sure the actual telephone instrument was not the prob;em.
