Does anyone know what would cause the system to soft boot everyday by it's self?

could be many things. A soft boot is an INI and if you go into the history you should find INI codes, and paste them here for us to look at!

this must be right after the INI, after the INI, the system always does midnights, then we see your Mail come up also... there has to be some history before the midnights??

I'll look for it and post it. Thanks

A list of the overlays that are run as the midnite routine will be helpful. Please post.

Here is what I got from last night. The issue looks to be that the system is rebooting at random times in the mornings. I'll try to get more information from the site that uses this system. We manage 34 seperate sites so getting info about issues is sometimes hard!

so far everything posted looks normal, nothing indicating an INI or SYS has taken place

I think I might have some power problems in that building. I have to look at that. I will keep you all posted thanks for the help so far.

I agree with yyrkroon, this is not a reboot at all! in fact after the midnite routines, the switch is running very clean!

I would look at the power like your doing because on the 4th that does look like the system just went through a start up. The history that you printed was clean but all that was from the 5th. Is this system on a UPS?

What version of software are you running?

I just had a rebooting issue with an Option 11C Chassis system running rls 5.5

The vendor loaded a couple of patches, and then had me verify that There were no TTYs set at 1200 bps (TTY 1 & 2 were guilty, so I changed them).

After those changes, the system has been running clean for about a week now.

Yes it is on a UPS and it has been swapped out. So I am looking at that too. Might have have a new one that is going bad. It's happened before! I'll also look to see what ver I am running on that one.

Thanks

if you had power issues however, the pbx would tell you that
with WPR codes, I haven't seen any on what you've shown us. I agree that you probably reloaded on the 4th, but you haven't shown us any issues since, and without any INI codes prior to 10:11 pm on the 4th, we can't really tell you much!

I had a bad UPS a couple of weeks ago and this one switched off the power to M1 and brought it back after a few seconds. It was also once a day. If you are able to take a look at the debug logfile you should see the reason for the reboot.

Best regards from Switzerland,
Mike

Here it happend this morning to me. From what my users tell me it might involve our PA system as well. It is only happening when they go to a different bell scheduale day and a few hours in to it the phones reboot.

Here is the asht file from this event

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Power on Reset - you system lost power. Either you have a faulty power supply or there's a problem with the outlet where's its plugged into.

Can you go into "pdt" and key in rdtail all. This will tell you what's been happening during the past Month. Paste the captured data please?.

All the best
