I have an 11c rel 24. I have usrobotics on port 0 set to 19,200 8n1. All worked for years till last week. now just answers and no handshake noise. Change out modem and still no. Move modem to CDR port 2 and it works fine. It is like you call it and you hear it answer but no handshake sound seems to be port 0. Port 1 and 2 are taken up. Any suggestions?

You may need to reprogram the modem:

Configuring a modem
1 Turn the modem off.
2 Configure the modem DIP switches as follows.
• DIP switches 1, 3, 7, and 8 to ON (down)
• DIP switches 2, 4, 5, and 6 to OFF (up)
3 Connect an RS-232 cable to the modem and to a terminal.
4 Configure the terminal with the following values:
• 9600 baud
• 8 bits
• 1 stop bit
• no parity
5 Turn the modem on and enter each command listed in Table 18 with a carriage return (press Enter or Return key).
The modem responds OK to every command (except for the last two commands, ATQ1 and AT&W).
Table 18:
AT&F Load active profile.
AT&H0 Flow control disabled.
AT&D3 Resets on receipt of DTR.
AT&S1 Modem controls DSR.
ATS0=1 Answer after 1 ring.
ATS2=128 Escape character = ASCII 128.
ATS7=60 Pause one second for carrier detection.
ATQ1 Quiet mode.
AT&W Store active profile.

6 Disconnect the power cord and serial from the modem.
7 Set DIP switches 1 and 4 to ON (down) and the remaining switches OFF (up).

I have stated the tty ports and all are enabled. Thanks for the modem info. I will use this now and in the future. I did not thik I needed to reprogram modem since it worked on tty 2. I was thinking since it was port 0 that I needed to get new ssc card. What you think?

rare to go bad but maybe the octopus cable?

Before replacing anything, what I would do is:

Do a backup, power down the system, then reseat the SSC card, then power it up and test out the TTY.

Thanks for the input guys. Today I dis edd/bko. All good. I then turned down system and reseat card. System would not boot at all after that. I then Pulled all cards out of 3 cab system and got it to come up w/ just ssc. Then able to bring up rest one at a time. She's old.
Anyway tryied modem again and no go. Just an answer and a click t dead battery. I have called in the calvery, My vendor. We will see next week. Happy Thanksgiving

It's best to see if you can connect up a laptop to TTY 0 and also make sure the dip switch settings are correctly set for the baud rate as TTY 1 and 2 are set via programming in LD 17.

It's known that an incorrectly dip switch in the wrong place will bring an Option 11 system down!. You should only have one swith set to the right hand side to match your laptop or modem baus rate.

All the best
