Hi
We're running an option 11 with a datapulse admin console. Occasionally we have a problem where all the digital lines on one or more cards go offline and people find their phone is dead.

What we've been doing to bring them back online is to bring the details of each line up in datapulse, make some minor change, save it, then change it back to how it was. The act of writing the changes seems to bring that line back to life, but obviously it's a tedious process.

Is there any way of telling the switch to scan through all the TNs trying to bring them back online?

Thanks.

I would log a fault with your maintainer. If all phones on a card go dead then there's something wrong....

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Thanks mikey. It's already been logged as a fault in fact. Ironically, the engineer was onsite last week but was called away urgently - then we discovered all the lines were down on one card.

I was just hoping someone would be able to help me with a quick fix that would get us up and running if it went wrong again..

Although I don't generally administer the telephone system I have done the Meridian basic admin course and have an EE background so working at the terminal isn't a problem.

Cheers,
Keith

You can simply go to load 20 and enable the sets.

Ld 20 prt
type dn (get your TN)

req: enlu xx x xx xx (tn you just got)
req: idu xx x xx xx (shows you the phone is talking back to you and enabled)

Thanks very much John, that's useful.

Is there any way to have it automatically iterate over all the TNs on a given card so that I don't have to type
enlu 6 0 0 1
enlu 6 0 0 2
enlu 6 0 0 3 ... etc?

That looks like what I wanted, Dougo123. Thank you.

Thanks everyone. :)

On the 11C you can also enable everything that's disabled in a cabinet by typing ENLS x (where x is the cabinet number starting at 0).

You mentioned this happens to one or more cards in the system. Does it just happen or is it invoked during the midnight routines and you find it the next morning when you come in. Sounds to me like you have a bad card, card slot or even backplane issues. I would check grounding of the Opt 11 box as well.

How do you modify the midnight routine so that define tn's with no phone connected will be disabled
