We have clustered two 3300 Mxe's with MCD 4 and I'm aware that means that we cannot use OpsMan to do any kind of cluster related things now.

However, can we use it to do none cluster related tasks like schedules. I want to be able to control night service from OpsMan as I believe it can be slighly moe flexible than programmed service.

As far as im aware you are correct.
You can still use OPSMAN to do backups, schedules etc.

How ever I dont believe / know of any functionality within OPSMAN to program flexible night service routing.

What are you trying to achieve?

Its a pain, the customer is 9 til 5 four days a week on the friday they do 9 til 4 and weekends they are closed. There's no way that I know to schedule this.

I've had conflicted opinion on this, some say business hours doesn't effect night call flow, just things like the auto attendant and voicemail. However I thought we had it working with Business Hours, until we upgraded to the latest MCD, and it kinda broke it.

It is only the MAC work that is unusable with OPS.

All maintenance routines are still accessible.

Night service switching being one of them.

Some people are resorting to using modems to dial codes at specific times of day. Not something I would recommend but it would work.

Looks like OPSman will do the job, I can leave the Mitel to run programmed service for four days, and schedule an OPSman scheduled maintenance command to run and early NIGHT1 on the Friday. Hopefully that will make the customer happy.

You might as well wave bye bye to Ops if you intend to go past MCD 4.

LoopyLou, Have you ever used OPSMan?

Granted the MCD4.0 RDN version works after a fashion but anyone who enjoys the benefits of Scheduled MACs and One form MACs and templates will continue to use OPSMan.

KWB,
I think what LoopyLou is refering to is the fact that OPSman will be discontinued in 4.1

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

Crying Shame if true.

Oh... it's true...
Enterprise Mgr remains, OPSman is out.

Ther5e has been no annoucement that Opsman will be retired as of 4.1 as well you can use opsmanager ands ent if you are at mcd 4 if when mcd was installed they chose to manage with opsman

We were in the process of implementing OPSMAN (standalone) for one of our customers.
We were then politely told by mitel that a new version of MCD is to be released (the guy at mitel suspected back end of next year but no confirmed dates) this will have full functionality of the current OPS/ENT MAN.

At this point existing OPSMAN will be retired, obviously Mitel will continue to support the system -I believe for 3 years.

Yes, I was referring to no Opsman past MCD 4 and yes it is a shame.

I have a chart but I cannot upload it here cause its a picture but all the functionality of opsman will not be implimented til mcd6 so if you have an opsman site do not upgrade or it will not work
