Nortel MICS 7.x with Callpilot. We have been running our system with an AA (8 incoming lines answer on 2 rings, all telsets on Appr only) for years with little trouble. My supervisor wants to designate a person to answer calls and if they don't reach it in time have the AA answer. If I program one telset to Appr & Ring then incoming calls on that line go straight to VM when that person is on the line (because that telset is set to forward to VM on busy). What I would like to do is have the AA pick up an incoming call if the telset is busy but have internal calls to that extension go to VM if busy. Is that even possible?

Thanks in advance.

What you ask for is not possible.

If a DN is Appear and Ring then CFB should be set to NONE. The Norstar does not distinguish between internal and external calls. CFNA can still be used as long as the timer is longer than the number of rings to answer in the Call Pilot or calls will go to the DN's voice mail.

Marv,

Thanks for the info. I think I can make it work with CFB set to none.
