Operator answers call to hear beep, no one there? 3

Operator answers call and hears a beep and no one is there. At which time, she hangs up. In the beginning, she would wait for caller to respond, maybe incoming glitch. This has happened since the install of the phone system, but it appears to occur more than 20+ times a day now. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Is this a simple programming oversight, PRI/Pool settings? Something else?

What kind of beep ? Is it a Fax Machine kinda beep that goes on every few seconds ?

Transfer the call to a fax machine and see if you get a fax.

Check line settings for disconnect supervision too. If the caller has actually hung up, the system may not be aware of the hangup if disconnect supervision is set to no and the switch will ring the call to the operator.
