hi everybody:

a few questions about the operator panel. does this page auto-refresh, or do you have to manually reload it whenever you want to refresh system status?

I've got four extensions in a ring group. in the operator panel, when you hover one of those extensions, it says "dnd active". but i don't have dnd active on any of these extensions. not sure why it's reporting that dnd is active. i went to each extension and toggled DND to make sure that all extensions were on "allow calls". they all are, so i'm not sure why the system is reporting that dnd is active.

we've got a few users who'd like to utilize the panel to monitor extensions in use so they know when other users are on the phone. beats having to have an expansion module if we can get it to work right!

thanks for the help!

The operator panel does auto refresh yes. You can also use the Extensions Overview page on the reports tab. The status column will show the phone state at any given time. The direct URL to that page is:

assuming that you left the UCx with the default IP address :)

Good luck!

thanks for the post, Justin. I noticed that report as well, thanks! :) but i'm still not able to determine why the system is reporting that some extensions have DND active when they, in fact, do not. looking at the extension report, dnd is not active there, but with the operator panel, it is. not sure why ...

There was a bug long time ago that was causing DND to be reported for various operator panel items (including trunks). Is it possible that you haven't updated your UCx in the last 6 months or so?

i just did some updates last week. maybe i'll try a restart and see if that fixes the issue ...

Well - in that case, try this - go to the PBX - Tool - Asterisk CLI page and issue the command
database show DND
Do you get any extensions listed in the output?

ok ... I went into CLI page and typed this in without the quotes: "database show DND"

there was one result. ext. 246. and that's right - DND is indeed set on that phone.

if you look at the operator panel, it shows a little red circle by the phone to indicate that the feature is active.

the other phones reporting that dnd is active do not have the red circle and do not show up in the report, but yet, when you hover over them, they're reporting "dnd active".

the problem extensions are all in a ring group ... would that have anything to do with it?

If you have the latest software on your system, you should report the issue to E-MetroTel support.

I've noticed that extensions that are part of a shared call group show DND active when you hover over them in the operator panel.
