I'd like to know how to find the path from a workstation (node) to another, or from a workstation to the switch it's attached to. For example, in a big netwrok someone could ask me where is PHISICALLY a particular workstation, and I could answer the question if I knew the switch it's attached to ( without using the long solution involving the MAC address... ).

Is it possible with Openview ( NNM ) ?
How ?

Thank you

Have NNM search the maps for the object you want, and you should see in which segment the device is, and to which switch/router/whatever this segment is attached. This should give you a rough impression of where the workstation is standing. Provided, you DID describe the switches correctly :)
