Hi,
I want to try the OpenScape Deployment Service V7 (Singe Mode),but the server is down. I've never worked with a DLS server before and now I'm trying it for the first time.
DLS server program installed on Hyper-V with Windows server 2012 R2 Standart. The host server also runs on Windows server 2012 R2 Standart. DLS server licensing is in grace period.
Connecting to the DLS server at an internal address opens the application in another Java window. Is that normally?
When I try to connect to a server from another computer ( I get:

When installing Windows server and DLS server software, I always pressed "next" and made no changes. Windows firewall is off.
Can you tell me what I should check?

Thanks

Also, they normally send you the license key in a file, and you put that in a directory that is monitored by CLA/CLM - I've never typed a license key in by hand that I can remember, as I have backup copies of all those files.

You could install one of those apps that spoofs the MAC address, and tell it to use the MAC address you gave Unify. I know in VMware, you can tell the adapter to use a specific MAC or generate a random one.

Still the same problems with DLS. (License already activated).
1. I delete the DLS IP address on the phone.
2. I specify on the DLS server to send the DLS server address.
3. Starting Scan IP devices.
4.After scanning, the server indicates that no IP device was found.
However, after checking the phone settings, the DLS address is already entered again. The phone port always has Wshark monitoring turned on. Monitoring shows how the server communicates with the phone.
Ideas?

Are you able to see this phone under IP Devices > IP Device Management > IP Device Configuration? It sounds like it's working if the phone is getting the DLS address??

I can't see anything on the DLS server:
IP_config_egxpfz.png

And the same everywhere.
Are there any mandatory initial server settings? I mean the settings in the server application itself.
Also for ZANDE:
DIS-ZANDE:DLS;
H500: AMO ZANDE STARTED

DLS:
==========================

DLSIPADR = 172.16.0.29 ,
DLSPORT = 18443, DLSACPAS = NO ;

So I assume if you leave the search screen blank, nothing is found as well?

Lopath,
we probably live in different time zones because you write when I'm back home after work :)
Yes, the server cannot find anything.
However, after checking the pbx configuration, STMI boards already have a DLS server IP address.
I suspect something is wrong with the DLS server itself. Maybe I'm not doing something or I'm doing it wrong?
Could you tell me what minimum settings I need to make to find new IP devices?
By the way, I already have the DLS V10 version.

Must be, I'm in the US.

I'm on OpenScape Deployment Service V7 R3 CV484, released 1 Nov 2017. I didn't realize there was a V10 already! Looking through the customer support portal, it looks like they went straight from V7 to V10. Very odd.

I did find these documents on the portal:
OpenScape Deployment Service V10, Administrator Documentation, Issue 3 2020-01-16
OpenScape Deployment Service V10, Data Sheet, Issue 2 2020-01-02
OpenScape Deployment Service V10, HTTPS Configuration Guide, Service Documentation, Issue 1 2019-12-09
OpenScape Deployment Service V10, PKI Basic Configuration Guide, Service Documentation, Issue 1 2019-12-09
OpenScape Deployment Service V10, Security Checklist, Issue 3 2020-01-09

I would recommend getting access to the customer support portal, if you don't have access already.
If you don't have access, you should still be able to see the built-in help, which should have a section on the installation and initial configuration.

Now that I know we're on two different versions, I'll have to step back. My config was pretty simple. I didn't have to make any changes to the 4K to get it to work. The DLS was capable of finding everything I wanted just by running the scan.

Best of luck!

I also had a V7 at the beginning, but when I ordered my license I got a V10 license and a V10 DLS softwate. Both versions look the same to me, the principle is the same. I have read the manuals for both versions, but I haven't noticed any difference yet.

I did notice, however, that in V10 it doesn't reference the 4K in the list of compatible systems. Not sure why that would matter, though. It should be able to see all of the phones with no problem. It looks like they called it V10 to go along with OpenScape Voice V10. That's likely the major difference is the compatibility with newer systems and phones. It also looks like they changed how the system is built on the server, since they're trying to get away from Java.

But V10 uses the same Java login method as V7

LoPath - I'm on 487. Not sure if that is the first version where they made the big changes or after. They switched to Postgre SQL and they also went from using Java applets to Java application manager, so you have to fire the application manager now with a shortcut rather than going to a URL in your web browser. I had not heard of V10 either, but I haven't been shopping in a while. The release notes would more than likely tell you what hardware they are no longer supporting, or if there is something stupid like a minimum version of phone software required to use it... :eek:)

Problem solved.
When the phone firmware was updated, the Dls server found the phones.

Good deal!
