Opening Quark 5 & 6 in Indesign CS

I'm using Indesign CS on a PC.

I'm able to take Mac Quark 4.x files, add the .qxd extension, and open them in InDesign CS. I'm not able to open Quark 5 & 6. Is there an upgrade or plugin that will allow me to edit and work on Quark 5+ files in Indesign CS?

Hi.

ID CS can only open Quark 4 documents, so the Quark files must be saved in that format. Above that at the moment there's no go.

This is also true in the future. Adobe announced that it is unable to convert any future QuarkXPress documents above version 4. No further development of this import filter will occur.

Though it does potentially leave a solid opportunity for a third-party. How the DMCA affects this, however, I don't know. It may well prevent anyone from distributing such a tool. I suspect that's why Adobe stopped.
