I just upgraded to Flash MX. I consider myself very much an amateur with Flash, but I have been using Flash 5 for a year. I have a movie I began creating in Flash 5 and now I want to "translate" it into Flash MX. I tried just File-Open and then File-Import, but all the properties of the movie are not there (proper layers, etc). Is there a special way to "translate" a Flash 5 file into one I can continue creating in Flash MX?

File->Open should work no problem.

I'm so bad - you're right - it was there all along. I hadn't worked with the file for over a month and forgot that I had 7 layers at the top that I hadn't done anything with and I thought all the layers were like that. You're right - they're all there. Thanks for pointing out this blunder to me!!! I thought I was going to have to re-create everything!
