Hi
I wonder if anyone could help me.

I have a database which is held on a network drive and used by three access 97 users. They are part of a access workgroup. What i want to do is allow a use who has Access 2000 to be able to use the database. I have joined her to the workgroup on her machine however when i try and open the database i get this error message

i am completely stuck as to what to do!

any help would be really appreciated!

thanks

Open the database once in Access 2000 using the developer account. When asked whether you want to convert or open just open the database.

You should now be able to reopen under the user account with no problems.

The problem i have i think is when i try and run the access 97 db on a 2000 machine it asks to be a member of a workgroup. There is a workgroup setup, i make it a member using wrkgadm.exe and it still doesnt let me in. Where do i have to setup the username for the database so i can access it?

i think this is done in tools > security > users and group accounts.

however the same menu that is found in users and group accounts has been designed into the database. This is where you change the records but i am unsure how the computer i am placing the db onto knows how to validate the password/username!

sorry for the confusion!

thanks
