Is there anyway to keep an Access 200x user from converting a Access 97 database to 200x (either deliberately or inadvertantly)when they open it? I looked in the FAQ but didn't find this.

Thanks.

One way would be to give them read-only permissions - if that's feasible for that particular database. You would have to have user-level security setup for that database.

I haven't tried it, but if you gave them an MDE instead of a MDB to play with, I don't think it can be converted.

Try and get everybody to use 2000, if possible

The only trouble if it is read only they can not update.

Have you tried different front ends for (97 and 2000)

This is about as bad as I thought. Thanks for everyone's input.

I blame Bill for this problem......
