Creating an Intranet website using FrontPage 2000. I have two large Word documents that I want to open using Word, not within the webpage, but opened as a separate application. I have tried a few macros with no luck. There are print and page/section display issues that are not enabled when opened using Word within the webpage itself. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dreamboat, but the solution you offered is actually the reverse of what I need. I want to open the document by starting the Word application from a hyperlink in my Webpage. I do not want the document to open up within the Webpage itself. Any ideas?
Create a hyperlink to a page or file on a file system
You can create a hyperlink to a page or file in a file system. When a site visitor clicks the hyperlink, the destination page or file is displayed. For example, you can create a hyperlink to a file on a network.
Note The hyperlink's destination should be in a location that is accessible to all site visitors, such as a network drive. If you want to create a hyperlink to a page or file located on your local drive, specify a UNC path (such as \\computername\share\file.htm) rather than a local path (such as C:\Share\File.htm). Otherwise, when a site visitor clicks the hyperlink, the Web browser will look for this file on the site visitor's C:\ drive and will most likely return an error.
In Page view, type the text you want to use as a hyperlink and then select it, for example type and select "My Interests."
Or, if you want to use the location of the destination (such as file://computername/share/filename) as the hyperlink text, position the insertion point where you want to insert the hyperlink.
Right Click the highlighted work
Click Hyperlink .
Click File .
Browse to the page or file you want from your local network, and then select the file.

Igebhart & Zelandakh - Thanks so much for your replies but I fear I have not clearly explained what is happening. I created the hyperlink to a document on our network and I have specified to use Word to open the document but what is happening is the document is opened within the webpage itself, using Word. It is not opening Word as a separate application first. I can certainly understand why it would not do that by default but this is for an Intranet site so opening Word separately would not be a problem. These two documents are several hundred pages long and when opened within the Web, does not display Sections/pages and the Print button defaults to Print All. If I can figure out how to open these files by opening the Word application separately and then the file - I'd be a happy puppy.
Interesting enough, when you are in design mode in FrontPage and use the Ctrl + Click to follow a hyperlink, Word does in fact open and then the document but not so when tested through IE 5.

I got a call today from someone who was able to open their docs and spreadsheets fine, but couldn't open the powerpoint files--just as you can't open the Word docs...so we know that it can be done. Don't give up, Ric. Have you checked other forums though? I think you'll find more of the type of people doing this kind of stuff.
