Howdy All! . . .

Id like to [blue]default windows explorer to the C drive[/blue]s root folder! As usual microsoft defaults to what they think is best.

Anyone? . . .

Create a shortcut or batch file (or modify your start menu shortcut) to: explorer /e /root,c:

Nice one smah, I've always wanted to know how to do that. Works with XP too!

Splendid smah. I've learned something useful too. Have a pink star.

Cheers, Mike.

Seems an odd request. The root of the system drive is meant to be a protected location in Vista. Thus having Explorer open there is rather pointless.

Your Users/<user> folder is the root of your user workspace on disk. This has been the direction since Win95.

Hmmm. Explorer on my machine always starts in My Documents. Even if I create a shortcut to say d:\. Strange. Then again I seldom use explorer. I prefer to either use My Computer or put drive shortcuts on the desktop. Ok, I'm lazy and like to cut down ohn the number of clicks...
