We are in the process of migrating from Deski to Webi (XI R3.1)

Right now, I have VBA code that opens deski reports, refreshes etc etc.

How can I open a Webi report on a repository from VBA ???

I looked in many different forums and have not found an answer yet.

A trace of a hint would be appreciated :)

Thanks a bunch !

Mike

It's not possible to do so.

DeskI is a Windows app; an object model exists allowing VBA to do the work.

WebI is a web app that can be accessed via either a JSP or ASP object model. I don't think the ASP model even exists in 3.1.

Why do you want to do this anyway? You can write a VB program that makes a web services call and opens reports.

Thanks Steve,

That's pretty much what I thought. I just wanted to have confirmation from a more knowlegeable person.

Thanks and take care !

Hi Steve,

Would the same apply for Rich Client 3.1 which we also have access to.

Thanks again.

Mike

Rich Client is a Java app that runs on the desktop. If you can use VBA to conrol it, go ahead. But, I'll be amazed if there is any object model for it.

Web Services is the way to go.
