Hello.

Is there anyone thats has any idea?

When I backup our servers that running Open VMS I have sometimes one or to disks that delivers data really slow. About 7 mb /hour.
I have seen this on several of our VMS servers. It gives me a lot of trubble.
Whe use Win2K Legato 6.1.3 and Wumpusware Open VMS Client 2.0.6.
I can´t see anything wrong in the config, please help me.

Hi,

we had a load of performance problems with OpenVMS client, and after extensive work in tandem with Legato and Wumpus have had a new version of the Legato client package built. We now see 80-110GB/hour using compression on a gigabit network. With restore rates of upto 75GB/hour.

What's the h/w config you're running on the OpenVMS clients ?

What is being refered to was an issue with ACLS's. If you have ACL's on the disks, then that is probably your issue. The Legato 6.01B client & Storage Node resolve that issue.

another cause could be lots of files. With OpenVMS 7.2, Compaq released a new version that improved handling of many many small files.
