Hi all,

I'm working with Legato Networker 7.2. Monitoring the system and the results of backups isn't really easy with Legato.

Thus I'm looking for an Open Source Software to Monitor our Legato environment.

Can you tell me, if there is anything around that makes life easier when working with Legato?

Many thanks for your answers.

Regards

Armin

Well my friend Legato has come up with their solution for monitoring the Legato network backup completion. It is called Networker Administrator (the GUI/Windows version). Otherwise, you are lost in the NW world when it comes to monitoring Legato Networker.

I guarantee it.

Have you considered NMC which is the new standard GUI for NW 7.3? It also has a much better reporting system.

as 605 has stated, NMC is probably your best reporting tool to meet your requirements. There is the Full Networker Management Console, but this cost $$ but will manage you total Networker Environment...(price dependant on number of nsr servers being managed via NMC)

Or just upgrade to v7.3 and use the cutdown version which is now packaged with Networker and replaced the X nwadmin GUI.

personally, i would just wait till v7.3.1 hits the floor, ensuring any enhancements, bugs etc are fixed with this first release.... (first revision is usually not too far behind)

Hi,

thanks for your quick responses.

I've heard from Networker 7.3, but, as you pointed out, I'd just like to wait till the first bugs are discovered and fixed...

So, you think there's nothing appropriate around in the Open Source World? That would mean I'd have to wait for a stable 7.3-version.

Thanks and best Regards

Armin

You can wrote some short script to cycle through your clients, I can share some if you like.

What do mean by "Monitoring the system and the results of backups isn't really easy with Legato"?
