I need to open a new record when a form is opened for employees to input suggestions and recommendations without deleting existing suggestions. Also, if an employee opens the form and decides he/she doesn't have time to finish, I don't want Access to save the blank or incomplete record. I've read through some previous threads created about this topic and saw that I should change the DataEntry to yes. However, that option is not available. I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place. I'm very new to Access and could use all the help I can get. The other replies said that DataEntry wouldn't be available if AllowAdditions wasn't set to yes, but it is. So I don't know what to do. Please help. I really appreciate it.

Hi
Data Entry is just under Allow Additions on the Data tab of the property sheet for the form. If you do not wish to save incomplete records, this may not be the way to go. It may be best that you create an unbound form and save when the user clicks a save button. Otherwise, you will need disable the close (X) and put in both a save button and a close button that undoes the record after some sort of warning. There are a few other possibilities, but the above may give you some ideas, I hope. :)

I'm not exactly sure how to do that, but that definitely gives me something to play around with. Thank you so much for your help.
