Hi There i am having problem in backingup some of CA product Logs. I am running ARCSERVE2000 with sp2, My client is WIN2K with a number of CA products , I can backup every thing execept TNGDTLA_TRACE.LOG . The ARCSERVE log error sounds like this "20010613 180642 8 AW0004 Failed to open file <C:\Inetpub\ RC=5, Access is denied. ".

Can anyone help me solve this problem.

Thank you.

Assign NT "backup operator" rights to the NT account that is being used to perform the backup of the system, and the "Arcserve system account" - this account can be set in the "Arcserve server admin" applet- Click Menu- admin, Arcserve system account.
If this doesn't help, it is possible that the file is a log file open at all times - you can change the LOCK method in the JOB OPTIONS to try a different lock. Using LOCKs other than the default can result in a backup copy of the file that lacks integrity.
If you don't need to backup the file, you can use the FILTER option in the backup job definition to prevent the backup.
Let me know if this helps.
