If you are talking about open error on specific files, these are usually files that the operating system is using and eTrust has been denied access to them. This is a normal condition.
It will also show an open error for any files to which the person running the scan does not have access to. If you're running the scan as administrator then any files that adminstrator does not have read access to can not be scanned.
The easiest way around this is to run the scan as a "scheduled" scan, even if you set the scheduled time for only a few minutes past the current time. You'll still get some files that are in use but not nearly as many.
