Hi

I hope you can help, I have a scheduling program (Knowledge sync) that is trying to open a crystal report on an other server and send it as an email attachment (This is built in functionality of Knowledge Sync).

The trouble is that even though I specifiy the file path as a unc path \\server_name\directory\myreport.rpt I get this error (Open Error Access Denied 2147206458)

I can manually open the report and knowledge synch and the report are using the same DSN to access the database. I have checked file permissions and the knowledge synch user is our domain admin so they should have access to this folder.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an issue you should raise with the vendor's tech support.

We bought it through a reseller - the vendor will not support us directly and I think our reseller isn't sure whats going on..

I'll keep trying with them but the replies are very slow in coming..... :(

Hi All,

It appears to working now, We copied the report to a local path on the server, the schedule still did not produce the mail.

We are setting the event up through a remote p.c. and therefore we copied the report to the same directory on the remote p.c. and scheduled it to run again with this p.c. running - it worked. We shut down the p.c. and scheduled the event for overnight - and it worked - the server Must have run the report so I guess it has to run on the remote first then the server...

Thanks for all your efforts and help
George
