I have an autoexec macro in an .mdb. To open the db without triggering autoexec, I must hold down the shift key. I have a windows shortcut to this .mdb. Can I put something in the "target" part of that shortcut, that would stop autoexec.
I agree. Rename the autoexec macro to something, then use the "/x macroname" parameter to the launch of Access anytime you want to run the new autoexec. Open it without the macro whenever you do not want to run that macro.
I tried renaming the macro to autoexec1. Then I set the target to "C:\ /autoexec1 db1.mdb". Unfortunately, the shortcut stopped working then. So I tried "/autoexec1 C:\db1.mdb". Windows would not allow that name.
