I have created a shortcut that allows me to view the files on a networked computer. How can I modify the shortcut so when I double click it, it will open in a new window? When I hold the shift button down and double click the shortcut, I get a new window. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

Short answer is, you can't. Not just for that shortcut. The only option you have is to set the windows Folder Settings to Open Each Folder in new window...but this is for every folder across your system. Holding shift will open your folder in a new Explorer Window though.

Hope this Helps.

Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options. On the General Tab there is a heading "Browse Folders". Here you can select "Open each folder in it's own window".

mpnut, This is defeating the purpose of what I am trying to do. Everyone who contributed, Thanks alot.

Create a cmd file with
Code:
 explorer networkPath

and create a shortcut to it.

Cheers,
Dian
