I am still trying to figure out how to open a PDF file from an HTML page so it opens with Adobe Acrobat rather than through HTML.
I heard that Books on Line are on PDF format but cannot be printed. How is that done? Or did I missunderstood something.

Thanks
Buenot

In Acrobat, go to File menu/create pdf/From Web page.

If you're talking about a pdf that you come across on a website that you want to open in Acrobat 9or Reader) rather than in the web browser, disable the PDF plugin for the browser. The pdf will then download to the folder that you designate for download in your browser prefs.

Acrobat give the creator the ability to create various levels of security. One of those is to forbid printing. This is found in Acrobat under File menu/Document properties/Security.

Using OSX 10.3.8 on a G4

if you are talking about opening PDF's in internet explorer, go to acrobat preferences/ internet/:
uncheck the box labeled "display PDF in browser."

With firefox you would disable the plug-in.

Thanks you all. Got it working. It also turn out that when you call the PDF file using IE it works different whether you have Acrobat reader or Acrobat.
