Ontape failure

I have a new server. Old server ran SCO 5.04 and Informix 7.3.
Installed SCO 5.07 and Informix 7.3 on new server. Created Ontape level 0 backup on old server and did ontape -r to transfer data to new server. I'm kind of ignorant about logical logs but I believe logs were sent to dev/null. Log number from level 0 backup on old server was 241. When I restored data to new server I had the option of restoring log which was identified as 241. When done I think the new log for the new server was labelled log 1.

I tried twice today to do an ontape level 0 on the new server.
Both times it got to the fify percent completed level and then displayed this error message: Archive failed - function write to tape failed code -1 errno 6. So what's going on? Informix or tape drive problem?

i have a problem like your problem. i tried to restore a tape with ontape -r and....error :"failed:invalid archive tape" code -1 errno 22. Tape drive is ok, i think is a problem on ids. Informix version is 9.2 UC3
can anybody help me and michael?
