hello everyone,
we bought the adr60 internal ide device bundled with tapeware. we wanted to use it to backup two partitions in our fileserver, but i simply can not get the drive to work. i tried the bundled tapeware, updated to the newest version, but tapeware didnt show anything to backup on the server. no harddrives no partitions or anything. i tried ntbackup, but ntbackup keeps saying "there is no unused media, please insert one". so insert a fresh formated, adr2 60gb tape, but it wont work.
after all this i tried installing the tape drive in one of our not often used windows xp workstations. i noticed that i have to get an upgrade (for nearly 200$) to backup network drives with tapeware, so again i tried ntbackup. ntbackup denies recognition of the drive (i also tried to use the method with travan or miniqic, but then "there is no unused media, please insert one" this error message appears again). after that i looked in the removable media manager from windows xp, and i saw that device dosnt show up there, neither as library nor as media...
oh.... and i tried on both the win2k server and the xp workstation the signed driver from onstream, but nothing i could do solved the problem.
any help would be appreciated! and sorry for my bad english!
greets
