Onmonitor problem 1

Hi,

Could somebody helpme please.

I try to create an informix db, I create the raw devices, initilize the database with oninit, but whe I try to create a dbspace from onmonitor, I get this messages:

Then when I select the Dbspaces and create option, I get the next message:

Press ESC to build a new DBspace.
Press Interrupt to cancel the option and return to the Dbspaces menu.
Press F2 or CTRL-F for field level help.

Error writing to network

¿Any ideas?

The version of IDS is:
Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.UC3

I check the log, and I found this:
11:52:12 listener-thread: err = -951: oserr = 0: errstr = informix: Incorrect p
assword or user informix is not known on the database server.

¿How can I solve this?, I am using informix user...

Hi lgreyes,

This may or may not help you find a solution to your problem but I had a similar problem years ago.

I was tripped up once by having the "informix" userID be less than 100 and the "informix" groupID less than 100.

If you're an AIX shop, check /etc/passwd and /etc/group and verify the userID "informix" is > 100 and groupID "informix" is > 100.

Another possibility is ownership permissions in your $INFORMIXDIR/bin directory.

Thanks, I check all privileges and all privileges are ok, I change the password for user informix and this correct the problem.
