Hello, Today I developed an odd situation with my WGR614 (firmware version 1.2.2).
The basic theme to it is that only Windows vista machines can ping the router, and ping through it and browse the internet.
My Environment is this: I have a Vista Ultimate Desktop, A Vista Buisness Laptop, a Macintosh Macbook OSX Tiger, an XP Pro Service Pack 3 Desktop, an Ubuntu Desktop, an Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii, and two networked laserjet printers)
The Router is serving DHCP with the 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.135 DHCP Range. All clients can connect via wired and wirelessly and receive a dhcp address. However only vista machines can ping the gateway. All other clients, XP, MAC, Wii, Ubuntu, either wired or wireless received 98% packet loss when pinging the WGR614.
All clients can ping each other successfully without any packet loss, however only Windows Vista clients can browse the internet through the router.
What I have done:
I have reset the router to factory defaults,
I have power cycled the router; I have ran a new cables from the router to the other switch where the printers and desktops are attached. However even when plugged in directly, all clients other then vista still cannot traverse the gateway.
I have a backup PIX501 I keep around, and swapping the Netgear for the PIX brought all wired clients back up, however I would like to have the wireless functionality of the WGR614.
I am suspect that Vista is doing something to the router to cause it to ignore the other clients?
Any Ideas?
Thanks in Advance.
