Only Service Account Admin can access any mailboxes

Hello All,
I'm putting together a little network that will be a W2K domain with two Exch 5.5 servers in two sites. This is actually a non-production setup. My problem is that I can not access any mailbox unless I use the service account, even when using the user account that I assigne to the mailbox. I recall seeing a KB article about this symptom some time ago while at my last job, but it didn't apply to me at the time.
As I said, this is a non-production environment so I could just scrap everything and start over, but that would be the easy way out. If anybody has any ideas, that would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!
 
I'm not sure if this will help, but make sure that the permissions for your site (not the configuration) include the group 'Everyone' with 'search' permission. We had someone remove this group a few months ago, but I can't remember the exact problem it caused.

The search option will probably correct that and if you do activate it then you do have to do it for everyone or only certain people will be able to access the GAL. Check and make sure you service account is not the only on with the search permission.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.
 
Thanks for all the posts. Unfortunately, none apply to my scenario. However, I have made some progress. After adding the group and giving search permissions didn't work, I decided to scrap my installs and start over. Again, I could not access a mailbox as the user that is the primary account for that mailbox, only the service account. The primary account will only prompt me for login when openning Outlook.

So I scrapped everything again and installed Exchange 5.5 one more time, but this time on the machine that is the domain controller. And this time the users were able to log onto the mailboxes. So it looks like some type of communication issues between machines.
