Hi,

I am embedding a dynamic link to a multi-page PDF file in a Crystal 7.0 report. But when I view the report on the screen (or send it to the printer) it only shows page one of the embedded PDF. Am I doing something wrong, or is the application just not able to do this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I guess you mean using an OLE Object, Crystal 7 is so old I didn't recall it having that functionality, but I do recall that being the nature of the beast using Word documents.

You can copy and paste in formatted text (of course not from PDFs) and use the new page after to allow for page breaks, otherwise I'm afraid you can't do this in CR 7.

Shouldn't be a big surprise, your software is over 5 years old, the current version is XI.

Thanks for the light-speed reply! We are building a new server with the latest version of Crystal...do you know if what I am attempting is supported in XI?

Oops, correction - our new server has version 10 installed, not XI. Sorry about that...But when I use Crystal version 10 to create a new report with an embedded OLE object (a two page Word document) it only prints the first page. Has anyone out there had success embedding a multi-page OLE object within a Crystal report? Mine only displays the first page, and only prints the first page.

Thanks for any input.

This is a continuing weakness with Crystal, I don't think it has even been resolved in XI. It can only show the first page. The only way you can do it is to create an OLE object of each page and insert each one in its own section. Using new page after or keep object together will then break them over two pages.
