Using Photoshop 5 is aligning linked layers the only way of aligning ?

No, You can make a selection then select the layer you want to<br>
align. Then goto Layer:Align to Selection<br>
I think that Adobe could have done better on this.

Thanks for the tip I've been using Photoshop for years and didn't come across the layer Align Selection until now. Old habits of link and move die hard. Thanks for the insight.
