Hi I got a Windows 2000 server running a domain but it has a internet IP address as do all the clients. The clients map certain drives at login but I want to stop the ability to map network drives from external internet IP's only the ones on the servers subnet.

Is this possible.

Many thanks for your help

If you can't set the share permissions on those ip's, you'll have to block them from being accessed. You could put them into the ip filter on your outgoing nic.

You have to remove the check mark in front of client for microsoft networks and files and printers sharing for microsoft networks in the propeties of your internet card

sure but will that not stop connections completly?
