Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if I can set up OneXPortal with only embeded voicemail and no Preferred edition license?
In the OneXPortal documents it doesent say that a Preferred edition license is required but a had spoke to pre sales who said it does?

The only thing I can see on the installation guide 9.1 is the following -

d. Select VoiceMail-Provider - Enter the IP address of the voicemail server. For a Small Community Network, enter
the address of the centralized voicemail server (not that of the backup or any distributed voicemail servers). For
embedded voicemail, enter the IP Office system's own IP address

any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

You can't use it as a user license requires preferred edition.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

If it's 9.1 then Basic Users can use One-X Portal Services, it's just no One-X mobile or anything like that. Also you've already posted your answer. For the Voicemail Provider enter the IP Address of the IPO for Embedded.

Have you already tried this and it failed? Or is there another issue?

How can basic users use onex portal for other tasks than changing their password from the OneX login page?

My information is that you need some kind of a user license (office, tele, mobile worker or power user) to use 1XP. To be able to use these user licenses you need a preferred edition license. Up to R6(.1?) it was available in IPO standard mode (worked even without essential that days!) and some legacy 1XP licences (one per user) but that's a long time ago.

You need VM Pro license, end of story. If anyone says different, they are wrong.

Never tried with embedded as voicemail, because if you have the license, might as well use Pro.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your responses.
The system users have got Office worker licenses, but no VMPro license. The plan was to link that system to another system using centrilized voicemail but the customers oneXPortal and Voicemail kept failing over the link.
I thought by setting up another app server and running OneXportal for the users to connect to.

The user licences go invalid in the absence of Preferred or inherited preferred from SCN :)

Hi amriddle01,

Yes That is correct. Ever sinse the SCN was connected the Licenses go Dormant. Before it was connected the licenses for office worker were valid.

Fix the real problem instead of trying to find a workaround!

Ha ha,

The guy who set up VPN configured a Windows ISA server to create the link, Im not sure he knows how to open ports across the link. Also, the ISP BB isnt reliable.
I did try and get him to set the VPN using a Draytek/Firewall but he dosnt want to move from the ISA server yet?

It looks like I am going to have to go back to my original settings and painfully get him to fix the ports and monitor the link again. :(

cheers
