I am reading an avaya one x troubleshooting doc to get some phones defaulted out. the procedure is out lined as follows.

Reset a Quick Edition Telephone
1. Remove power from the device.
2. Apply power to the device and press and hold the OPTIONS button. The
device will reboot.
3. Continue to press and hold the OPTIONS button.
4. The telephone will prompt with the option to reset to factory default.
5. Select the factory default option. The device will indicate when the reset
process is complete.
6. Remove power from the device.

However an option for factory default never comes up. I have held the options button for 5 minutes after finished booting up and nothing. Is there a piece missing to this?

Figured it out but will post solution in case some one else runs into this. Once plugging power in you have to wait about 5 seconds before pressing the options button in and holding it. It will then display rebooting on the screen and bring up the reset menu. Hope this helps any one running into this issue.

It also appears you have to have the hand set connected and cradled as well.
